A study was completed by Auburn University to determine the efficacy of dry mist sanitizing technology on bacteria and mold numbers on eggs in the egg holding room prior to incubation and at the time of in-ovo inoculation and transfer of eggs to the hatching system. The study concluded that the sanitation treatment used in these studies appeared to have no adverse effects on broiler hatching eggs and the results were consistent with increased embryonic survival and reduced chick mortality post-hatch.
